LEGACY + RESIDENTIAL DESIGN

Some properties are not built for a season. They are built for a lifetime.

Legacy and residential clients come to Wild Birch Design with a different brief. Something slower and more permanent: a kitchen garden that feeds the family for decades. A landscape that belongs entirely to its place. An interior that holds everyday life and the most important gatherings with equal grace.

Our work begins with the same question every Wild Birch project begins with: what is this place's story, and what is the fullest version of what it could become?

Spaces designed for the way you actually live. Quiet retreat, vibrant gathering, daily ritual, and the particular kind of rest that only a well-designed home makes possible.

Regional materials, layered textures, and the details that make a place feel like it has always been exactly itself. Design rooted in land, story, and the people who will live here for years to come.

Interior and landscape treated as one continuous environment. Because the guest experience and the lived experience do not start and stop at the front door.

How we work

Every legacy and residential project begins with an assessment. We visit the property, understand your vision and your timeline, and identify where the greatest design opportunities lie. From there, the work unfolds in considered phases.

PROPOSAL + STRATEGY

We take a holistic look at how you live (or plan to live) in your space—evaluating flow, comfort, safety, accessibility, + return on investment. This phase includes a detailed assessment of the property + your goals to establish a clear, cohesive design direction.

DESIGN CONCEPT

We bring your vision to life with floor plans, mood boards, FF+E, and custom concepts—blending curated materials, furnishings, natural elements, landscape materials, plants, + planters. Whether updating interiors or enhancing outdoor spaces, each selection boosts functionality while elevating your home’s feel.

COMPLETION + SUPPORT

From strategic sourcing and vendor coordination to styling the final details, we offer remote guidance or white-glove support to bring your space to life. We prioritize regional sourcing, account for fluctuating costs and tariffs, and provide ongoing support for seasonal refreshes.

Every engagement begins with a conversation.

Kate was exactly who we needed during our home renovation. She confirmed the parts of our plan that worked and offered expert suggestions we hadn’t considered—especially with the island size and paint color for our open-concept space. If you're tackling your own home makeover, Kate is an invaluable resource and can be brought in at any step of the process to be your design partner!
